Gas Separator / Anchor

GAS SEPARATOR / ANCHOR

  • Separate gas at the pump intake to prevent gas build up in the pump
Black gold’s gas separator is installed at the end of the tubing string and is specifically engineered to maximize pump efficiency with high volumes of gas.
With a pump above the perforation, Black Gold’s gas separator becomes a crucial solution to maximize pump efficiency and allow a maximum amount of gas to be produced through the annulus and not drawn into the pump intake and produced through the tubing.

Each gas anchor is designed depending on the individual well conditions and production parameters to allow maximum production.

Why is it important to vent gas?
When free gas enters into the pump, it prevents an equal volume of liquid from being handled on each stroke. This causes an unwanted loss of volume and pump efficiency.

Most effective way of preventing this problem is to prevent the gas from coming into the pump intake by separating it at the point of pump intake.

What is the maximum amount of gas we can separate?
Depends on your total volume of fluid you are trying to produce. If too low there is not enough liquid to separator, if volumes are too high for casing ID, than your pump intake velocity will be too high for the gas separator. If given the casing ID, total gross volume, gas rates, and API oil gravity a Trained Black Gold engineer and salesperson will be able to size you a proper gas separator and let you know if the gas separator if a good fit for your application.

How long is a gas separator?
The minimum length of a gas separator is 4 ft, and its maximum length if 30ft
