Gas Booster Pump

GAS BOOSTER PUMP

  • Designed to mitigate gas interference and gas locking issues
  • Highly effective in moving gas through pump
  • Increases pumping efficiencies for gassy wells
  • Able to tolerate moderate amount of solids and fines
  • Full open high efficiency cages
  • Machined shoulder plungers for longer pump life
Black Gold Pump & Supply’s Gas Booster Pump is the most effective solution for gassy well application. The pump is designed to mitigate gas interference and gas locking by allowing gas to break out within the pump into a special vacuum compression chamber on every upstroke and gets moved out of the pump on every down stroke.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How does the Gas Booster Pump work?

The Gas Booster Pump creates a continuous flow of gas/fluid mixture through the pump on both the up and down stroke which reduces the risk of gas compression in the lower barrel assembly which is the cause of gas interference.

  • What is the efficiency increase on the Gas Booster pumps?

A minimum of 80% of the pump capacity is reached without experiencing any gas interference dynamometer cards.

  • Does this pump effect my sucker rod string negatively?

No there is no effect that occurs on the rod loading, buckling, or gear box loading. The pump actually helps with better rod fall and rod harmonics due to the elimination of gas interference.

  • Is there a special process for rod spacing or putting the well online?

Distinct from ordinary rod pumps or anti-gas pumps, the Black Gold gas booster pump employs innovative design features such as upper compression chambers and a vacuum system, enhancing its efficiency even when encountering high gas entry rates. It's essential to note that the positioning of this plunger in the barrel assembly diverges from conventional practices; rather than a lower placement, the plunger needs to be set higher. This strategic positioning facilitates the plunger's compression of gas out of the upper chamber, ensuring a steady, uninterrupted flow through the pump. For accurate pump spacing procedures, please consult with a member of the Black Gold sales or engineering team.
